Ponhook Lake is one of the largest and most beautiful fresh water lakes in Nova Scotia. In the summer the water temperature reaches around 25 degrees and is ideal for swimming. With over 12 km in length and sufficient water depth, the lake is not only a paradise for water sports enthusiasts but also lends itself to explore the many islands and tranquil coves. The lake and its tributary, the Medway River, are home to salmon, trout, perch eel and many other fish species and offer excellent conditions for fishing. One or multiple day canoe trips on the lake and through the Medway River are a must for any outdoor enthusiast.
